I considered seeking the help of a trainer after putting in eight months of work on my own, not knowing how to push myself further. I contacted Alyssa in the fall, knowing that with the holidays coming this is usually the time of the year where I get more lax about my training schedule and especially my diet. My goal was to simply not back peddle all my work from those eight months and to have some accountability.
From the first week through to the twelfth Alyssa provided me with challenging workouts, pushing my ability along side with my confidence. I was able to lift heavier than I have previously, building my strength and enjoying new exercises. Any questions I had about a movement or technique Alyssa was available to answer.
The nutrition component of this program is what initially appealed to me. I was comfortable in the weight room before, but my diet needed some work. I didn’t eat unhealthy food, but I had no sense of proportion, what to eat when and how certain foods would effect my training pre and post workout. Alyssa provided a meal plan which was simple, foods that I enjoyed and made it easy to stick to. It was laid out so that I could not fail. I wasn’t hungry and was satisfied. We then changed my nutrition plan to a macro based diet. I had done endless research on this before but just didn’t understand the numbers so never really gave it a fair shot. Alyssa was happy to calculate out my numbers, provided me with the foods I should stick to and encouraged me to try it. It took some time to get comfortable with it, but really find it an easier way to stay on track.
Whether you are just starting your journey to a healthier you, or you have hit a plateau I highly suggest giving this program a try. Although it’s an on-line based program, the interaction and availability that Alyssa provides makes you feel like she is side by side during your entire twelve weeks. Not only did Alyssa help me meet my goal of making it through the holidays and staying on track, she has helped me to create a new physique. I am stronger both physically and mentally. I have let the number on the scale go, and am excited to see new muscle and definition.
